Meet our Team
The first person you’re likely to meet when you visit our practice is our Receptionist and Hygiene Coordinator Jacie (pronounced “Jackie”), who moved to this area after living most of her life in Memphis. Jacie’s commitment to client care runs deep; she previously worked as a manager for one of Memphis’ most renowned restaurants and then with the Memphis Inter-Faith Association, where she was the Client Intake Specialist for the Meals on Wheels program for 17 years. When she’s not running the front desk, Jacie loves to garden, read and hunt for bargains at local thrift stores.

You may have spoken with Sandy, our Patient Care Coordinator, when you made your first appointment with us. Sandy welcomes new patients to the practice, reviews treatment plans with individuals to make sure they understand all aspects of their care, and coordinates treatment with other offices. She also keeps our website and social media sites current and manages inter-office communication. Sandy lives in Durham with her husband, two spoiled dogs, and three cats who rule the house.

Daniela is our newest dental assistant and loves learning more about dentistry every day! She received her Associate’s Degree in Science from Guilford Technical Community College in 2016. She is very devoted to her faith and spends most of her free time volunteering and helping others through difficult times: she has assisted in the construction and repair of places of worship and also volunteers in a disaster relief program. Daniela also enjoys playing sports such as tennis, baseball, and soccer with her husband, and has recently taken up running. Like Mimi, she is fluent in English and Spanish, and she is learning American Sign Language as well. With the practice since September, 2018
Bernadette joined our practice as an administrative assistant new to dentistry, and quickly demonstrated her aptitude for working as a dental assistant. We shouldn’t have been surprised by this hidden talent, as she volunteered with a wild animal rescue site as a teenager and once assisted with oral surgery on a tiger! Bernadette capably assisted chairside for years, then began assisting in our on-site lab, and in January of 2019 became our lead Lab Technician. Apparently, there’s nothing she can’t do!
With the practice since December, 2007
Our new intern joined the practice just after we reopened in May – when asked whether she still wanted to be a dentist, she responded without hesitation, “Yes, Ma’am!” Sarah appreciates that dentistry is a challenging career that uniquely blends artistry, science, and business. She looks forward to building trusting relationships with her patients. When she’s not working on her dental school applications, she likes playing tennis and walking, listening to crime podcasts, reading novels and biographies, and playing cards.
